Mad Pundit Radio Topic Brief

But what will we yapp about?
Bush wants to mess around with the Geneva Convention. The Democrats hate it, but have stepped to the background to allow the Republicans that hate it- a chance to kill it. The pundit will maintain and eventually persuade you that the Dems and wayward Repubs are wrong... and that the Geneva Convention does need to be messed around with. Just a little bit.

Meredith Viera joined the cast of the Today Show. The pundit doesn’t know what he thinks of that. In fact, the pundit doesn’t know if he thinks anything of that. But it seems notable- so it’ll probably come up.

The passing of the Grand Texas Matriarch Ann Richards has the pundit thinking about the funny things that politicians say. The former Texas Gov. and world-class King of the Hill co-star was most famous for her ‘silver foot’ verbal slam against the current Prez’s dad the former Vice-Prez George H.W. Bush. Why were her words acceptable in a climate where the current Vice-Prez was excoriated for referring to a mere reporter as a big-time ass hole?
Arnold Shwarzenegger in California, George Allen in Virginia, and Joe Biden in Delaware have all shaken their campaigns recently with an unfortunate turn of the tongue. What separates a precious quip from a political gaffe?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The other candidate for the Virginia senate seat Jim Webb used to be a muckety-muck in the military. Back in the day (the late 70’s) he wrote a fancy article in a way legitimate journal that women had a place in the military but in his opinion should never be allowed to serve in combat roles. Well, he’s a converted Democrat and that piece of his Republican past is now coming back to haunt him. He says he’s sorry and has changed his mind and blah, blah, blah. The pundit will be glad to convince you that the old-school military man is right and the new-school politician is wrong.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The pundit feels like playing a game. He doesn’t know what it is or what he’ll give away. But rest assured games will be played.
